The microwave works fine, but It has missing parts. Above the door, the grills are missing so there's big holes that my hand goes inside. Us the button decal is lifting and I only had it for 13 days. This was installed professionally. In 2 days a service rep is coming over to inspect the microwave. I expect a new replacement

So after receiving the microwave. I noticed it's kinda hard to push the buttons. It takes a good amount of pressure to get them to engage. In my opinion too much. I don't understand why it's set so hard. It could literally be touch sensitive. I don't expect that but I don't see the reason to be so heavy handed. 2nd the door seems how do I put this, cheap. It is just so light, this could be a good thing, we shall see. I don't like how easy it is to slam the microwave. If you close the door by letting go. It is really hard to not seemingly slam it. Even when you close it with your hand on it the entire time, if you don't hold back, it makes a considerable noise. Hopefully all these things will not make the microwave have a short lifespan. I can live with these things as long as the microwave lasts. As I said before, we shall see.

While I have only ever had GE OTR Microwaves, I have to say that I'm slightly disappointed. The first JNM7196DKWW that we installed lasted less than 2 yrs. before the Magnetron (?) needed to be replaced at a cost of time and material exceeding the original cost of the unit. I ordered the same model, hoping the first was a fluke or just a bad part, because ordering a new microwave was the same cost as repairing the old one, again only 2 yrs. old. The new unit, same model number, had different mounting holes and bracket, causing more time and annoyance to an already upsetting situation. Let's hope that the new model lasts more than 2 yrs. or it will be a countertop unit from a big box store going forward. Note to GE Engineering: Thanks for always trying to update and make better changes on your OTR microwaves, but if you keep changing the mounting holes, cabinets will start looking like swiss cheese and loose their integrity for holding the units in place.

Tis microwave suddenly started making the dreaded 'bad magnetron" pulsing groans and emitted a strong smells of burning plastic or electrical parts only 13 months after it was installed. This is a poor value if it only works for about one year.

THis microwave suddenly started making the dreaded 'bad magnetron" groans and thumps 13 months after it was installed. It also emitted a strong burning smell--plastic burning. Of course, this happened just past the 1-yr warrenty period.

Last GE Microwave lasted 12 years. Hope the new one does the same. Like the features on the new one but wattage is slightly less than the last one. Was available in white which was needed. Lacked an actual written manual which is a con for us. Online is available but you have to print it yourself. Was able to talk them in to a written copy which was just a printout of the on line one. Not all the features of the mw were covered in the manual so we are still guessing at how to use some of the features. It is not intuitive to us old folks.

We had 2 GE over the range microwaves prior to this one. So we didn't even consider other brands. However, we are not please with the dark interior! previous ones were white, and made the food easy to see without opening the door. The lite inside is dimmer than the previous ones. The light over the range is dimmer--even with the different brightness, even on the brightest, it's dimmer. There is definitiely room for TWO lites under the microwave, but only plug for one. And why would you go down to 1000 watts, when the previous older models were 1100 watts? We love our GE range, but would not recommend this microwave.

The microwave fan and the microwave itself are pretty loud when they are running. Even on low, the fan is much louder than my old one was when on high. The clock display is so bright I just shut it off. Thankfully, that's easy to do. It has some nice features that my old one didn't have. My last GE lasted 17 years. Crossing my fingers because this one doesn't seem to be made as well.

Our microwave is vented inside so we had no adjustments to make when installing. This unit is better then the less expensive units because of the sensors that cook/defrost/reheat just right. We like the under unit lighting. Fan/venting works really well.

My Samsung quit after almost 10 years. Thought I'd try GE. So far, all going well. I don't like the dark interior though, wish it was white inside.controls work well. I'll have to wait to see if it lasts as long as the last one.

This microwave is very easy to use especially with the simplified features and the sensors. Just push a few buttons and your food comes out exactly the way you want it. No more guessing times just set it and forget it.

This microwave was an upgrade over another GE, 1.6 cubic feet, that was about 20 years old. Install was simple, except that the mounting plate had changed and cabinet screws were positioned differently, otherwise it was pretty easy. We've only had it installed for less than a week but the vent, ours to the outside, is much more powerful than my last model. Plus it comes with a charcoal filter preinstalled for those venting to the inside. We also like the steam clean feature along with the enamel interior which are really great features. Should make cleaning much easier. Paid less for this microwave, with more features and a larger interior, than the one we had installed 20 years ago! Hopefully this one lasts just as long.
Only con is the ultra bright display, it's almost blinding in a dark kitchen. Looking for some window tint to place on display.

The food is definitely hot when taken out of the oven. It seems to run well, but is noisy. My old GE microwave had a white interior which was easier to see inside and easier to see to clean. I'm still getting used to it.
