We were glad that this Micro-wave / Convection oven was still available for purchase. It's been a real workhorse for us and it fits our micro-wave oven space perfectly. Would we buy it again? We just did.

This response only applies to replacement of a dead 20+ yr old built-in unit. Only had two options that would fit in cabinetry. Ive had the new unit for only about a month plusbut have enjoyed it,. For me, the best feature so far is the way it defrosts without cooking edges. Trim kit "fits" well in wall, but the unit has glossy face areas rather than matte black. However, I was delighted to find that GE still after all these years had a replacement for me.

I like the broiler feature but it makes it hard to clean. The controls choices are not as easy as the last one.

Replaced 15+ year GE Profile Micro/Convection Oven

This replaced the GE built in microwave/convection oven that previous owners had put in over 15 years ago. The sensor in the old one was going out so we opted to update to a similar model since it had lasted so long. We have had it for 1 year 8 months and it has stopped working. It will hummm off and on when door is closed, it won't let buttons work, then buttons will work and it'll start stop start stop then decide to work. It's really sad with how expensive it is for it to be acting like it is so quickly.

THIS PRODUCT WORKED WELL WHEN IT WAS WORKING...THE UNIT FAILED AFTER TWO YEARS OF USE... WE REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME UNIT BECAUSE OF CUSTOM INSTALLATION...ATTEMPTED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT COST OF REPAIR WAS CLOSY TO REPLACEMENT COST...DISAPPOINTED

Bought this microwave because it was supposed to be exact replacement for prior GE Profile microwave/convection. It isn't. Much smaller AND within 2-3 weeks of installation a thermal switch shorted out and had to be replace. Plus, the convection part of the oven does not reach temperatures it is supposed to or which it says it does.

This unit is great. Good number of features for its size and price. Replaced a 15 year old ge microwave that gave up due to rust issues. This one is even better, more silent and good features. Used a 30 inch trim kit and it looks great. Wish the color on clock display matched our existing oven.

I bought this same microwave 18 years ago and it served me so well I was glad to see you still have it and so I purchased it again :) However, the number buttons on this updated model don't light up at night which is an inconvenience to either put on an overhead ceiling light or use a flash light; seems to be a step backwards :(

Cheaply made for the price . Both the convection and microwave functions perform as expected. Door is not of smooth operation and unit is very noisy. I strongly suggest using a case as the cabinet becomes hot during convection mode especially on top.

Bought this unit to replace another GE Profile black microwave that served us for over 15 years, which worked fine but the door latch failed to open at the end of its life. From the beginning of the new PEB9159DJBB, the feel of the microwave didn't impress us. It didn't feel like an upgrade but rather back to the 90s look, with rather large silver logo in the middle and the display seemed outdated.
However, most importantly, the microwave worked fine, for 23 months. Just a couple of weeks ago, noticed the turntable not stopping after the warming cycle is done, it occasionally stopped itself but back to moving turntable again. Then last week, the turntable stopped but also the heating stopped. Had spent a lot of money including the trim kit to fit the cabinet only to have it broken in less than 2 years.

I like it a lot but the one thing that is different from my old 2012 GE profile model on the touchpad it hard to read the numbers are smaller and the old model had more of white writing versus this model is sort of a grey or light grey. Other than that I like it a lot.

This appliance replaced a GE microwave that was 9 years old with a lot of use. Although we had to wait 3 1/2 weeks for the item, it was worth it. Nice features and easy to install with he trim kit purchased separately.

Purchased oven in March 2018. Kept it perfectly clean. Daily usage for reheating food, and baked cakes once every 2 to 3 months. The inner tray start rotating everytime I opened the door, but continued heating. Stop working completely un September 2019. Worst microwave/conv I ever had.

This is the second identical model that we purchased in the last 3 1/2 years. The first unit was fine, and I would happily recommend it for someone looking for a microwave/convection unit. Unfortunately, it abruptly died after a little over three years. Even with that not-so-good experience, we liked it enough to buy a second one. This time, we really had bad luck as we received an initial defective unit with a door that would not close properly and an intermittent clicking noise when the turntable was in use. Fortunately, the dealer we bought it from is replacing it with another new unit. Fingers crossed for better luck, as we do love this product (when it's working correctly!)
